Maria Victoria Mateos

Maria Victoria Mateos is a leader in smoldering myeloma intervention whose QuiRedex trial established that early treatment with lenalidomide-dexamethasone in high-risk SMM significantly delayed progression and improved overall survival. She subsequently led GEM-CESAR with a carfilzomib-based intensification approach. Her clinical research also covers novel combinations in active myeloma, MRD-guided treatment discontinuation, and quality of life in myeloma patients. She contributes to PETHEMA/GEM guidelines and the European Myeloma Network consensus statements.
