Marcus Bhatt
MD, PhD
Professor of Pathology and Immunology
👥Biography 个人简介
Marcus Bhatt studies the dual roles of mast cells in the tumor microenvironment, demonstrating that mast cell-derived tryptase promotes tumor angiogenesis and matrix remodeling while histamine can either promote or suppress tumor growth depending on the receptor subtype engaged. His research has shown that peritumoral mast cell density correlates with angiogenesis and poor prognosis in several cancer types. He has identified mast cell-derived mediators that modulate the adaptive immune response within tumors. His work reveals the complexity of mast cell biology in cancer.
