Manu Bhatt constructed the first comprehensive single-cell atlas of ILC populations across human cancer types, revealing previously unrecognized ILC heterogeneity and tumor-specific ILC states that correlate with patient outcomes and immunotherapy response. His computational analyses identified an ILC exhaustion signature analogous to T cell exhaustion that predicts resistance to checkpoint immunotherapy and can be reversed by targeting specific inhibitory receptors on tumor-infiltrating ILCs. He develops machine learning frameworks for integrating ILC profiling data with clinical outcomes to guide immunotherapy selection.
