Saman Maleki

Saman Maleki has conducted clinical trials of FMT combined with checkpoint immunotherapy in melanoma, demonstrating that donor microbiome transfer can reprogram the gut ecosystem and systemic anti-tumor immunity in immunotherapy-refractory patients. His work on donor selection strategies for microbiome therapy has identified characteristics of optimal donor microbiomes for cancer immunotherapy enhancement. His metagenomics-based biomarker development has enabled prediction of which patients are most likely to benefit from microbiome modulation interventions.
