Maimah Karmo

Maimah Karmo founded the Tigerlily Foundation to address breast cancer disparities — particularly the higher mortality rates from breast cancer experienced by Black women due to later diagnosis, more aggressive biology (higher rates of triple-negative breast cancer), and inequities in access to standard-of-care treatment. Her advocacy for culturally competent breast cancer education, screening access, and treatment equity addresses critical disparities in breast cancer outcomes.
