Maha Hussain led the PREVAIL trial that established enzalutamide as a standard of care for metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer and was pivotal in the AFFIRM trial. Her research has characterized androgen receptor pathway alterations that drive resistance to next-generation hormonal agents. She has contributed landmark studies on the biology of castration resistance and the role of AR splice variants in treatment failure. Her clinical trials work has fundamentally shaped the treatment of advanced prostate cancer.
