Lynnette Nieman

Lynnette Nieman is a preeminent endocrinologist who has studied functional adrenocortical carcinoma causing Cushing syndrome, including mechanisms by which ACC-driven hypercortisolism exerts immunosuppressive effects and adversely impacts ACC prognosis and checkpoint inhibitor efficacy. She has evaluated the dual mechanism of mitotane as both a steroidogenesis inhibitor and adrenolytic agent, and has contributed to guidelines on diagnosing and managing Cushing syndrome in the context of ACC. Her research bridges endocrine physiology and oncologic management.
