Ly P. Vu has demonstrated the critical role of m6A RNA methylation in maintaining leukemia stem cell identity and self-renewal. Her landmark study showed that genetic depletion of METTL3 induces differentiation and apoptosis in AML cells while sparing normal hematopoiesis, establishing the therapeutic window for targeting m6A writers. Her work has been foundational in advancing METTL3 inhibitors toward clinical development.
