Sylvia Lunardi contributed to work demonstrating that pancreatic cancer stroma drives complement C5a mediated recruitment of immunosuppressive myeloid cells. Her studies implicate the complement cascade in shaping the immunosuppressive microenvironment of PDAC. She continues translational work on complement modulation in GI cancers.
