Lucy Godley has contributed to understanding germline genetic predisposition to myeloid malignancies — demonstrating that a significant fraction of AML and MDS cases (~15-20% of older patients) carry pathogenic germline variants in RUNX1, DDX41, GATA2, CEBPA, and other myeloid predisposition genes. Her work establishing clinical evaluation and counseling frameworks for germline myeloid predisposition has important implications for family members at risk.
