Shi-Jiang Lu has been a leader in developing iPSC-derived blood products for therapeutic applications, demonstrating the feasibility of generating functional platelets, red blood cells, and hematopoietic progenitors from induced pluripotent stem cells at scale. His research on directed differentiation protocols has advanced the prospect of unlimited blood product supply from standardized iPSC master cell banks. He continues to optimize manufacturing processes for iPSC-derived cell products to meet clinical-grade quality requirements.
