Thomas Louie is a pioneer of fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) for recurrent Clostridioides difficile infection and developed oral encapsulated FMT approaches. His work on microbiome restoration has informed applications of FMT to augment cancer immunotherapy response in trial settings. He has led multiple FMT clinical programs.
