Virginia LiVolsi is a leader in thyroid and endocrine pathology and co-led the reclassification of encapsulated follicular variant papillary thyroid carcinoma as NIFTP. She authored seminal thyroid pathology textbooks. She has shaped ASCP, CAP, and WHO diagnostic standards.
