Tao Liu has developed high-throughput quantitative proteomics technologies including the PRISM platform that enable deep proteomic profiling of large clinical cohorts essential for CPTAC cancer characterization studies. His targeted proteomics assays have been critical for verifying candidate biomarkers identified through discovery proteogenomics. His technology development work has dramatically increased the sensitivity and throughput of mass spectrometry-based cancer proteomics.
