Ronald Levy is the originator of the CpG plus anti-OX40 intratumoral in situ vaccination approach that has demonstrated remarkable systemic responses from local treatment in lymphoma. His pioneering work showed that injecting TLR9 agonists directly into tumors combined with T cell co-stimulation can eradicate distant metastases through abscopal immunity. He is widely regarded as the father of modern in situ cancer vaccination.
