Anthony Letai pioneered BH3 profiling as a functional assay to predict responses to BCL-2 inhibitors and cytotoxic chemotherapy. His laboratory established the concept of mitochondrial apoptotic priming and its role in cancer drug sensitivity. He remains a leader in translating mechanistic apoptosis biology into patient selection for venetoclax-based therapy.
