Dr. Leroy Hood is a visionary scientist who invented the automated DNA sequencer, the DNA synthesizer, and the protein sequencer, technologies that fundamentally enabled the genomics revolution in cancer biology. He co-founded the Institute for Systems Biology to apply systems biology to disease including cancer, and has championed the concept of P4 medicine (predictive, preventive, personalized, and participatory) as the future of cancer care.
