Alessandro Leal

Alessandro Leal has contributed significantly to refining cfDNA fragmentomics approaches by characterizing fragment end motifs and their relationship to nuclease cleavage preferences in cancer versus normal cells. His work on filtering white blood cell-derived cfDNA contamination has improved the specificity of fragmentomics-based cancer detection. His research on integrating multiple fragmentation features including size distribution, end motifs, and jaggedness has enhanced the discriminatory power of liquid biopsy platforms.
