Lance A. Liotta
MD, PhD
University Professor; Co-Director, Center for Applied Proteomics
👥Biography 个人简介
Lance Liotta is a foundational figure in cancer proteomics who invented laser capture microdissection, a technology enabling molecular analysis of defined cell populations from heterogeneous tissues. He co-developed reverse phase protein microarrays allowing comprehensive signaling network profiling in small clinical tumor samples. His early work on type IV collagenase/MMP-2 established mechanistic links between extracellular matrix degradation and cancer invasion. His proteomics approaches have enabled personalized mapping of patient tumor signaling pathways to guide therapy selection.
