Kristian Helin at MSK is a world authority on Polycomb repressive complex (PRC) biology and histone methylation in cancer. His extensive work characterizing how Polycomb complexes PRC1 and PRC2 regulate gene expression through H3K27 methylation and H2A ubiquitination has informed the development of EZH2 inhibitors (tazemetostat) for EZH2-mutated B cell lymphoma and INI1-deficient malignancies like epithelioid sarcoma.
