Alexis Komor developed the first cytidine base editor during postdoctoral research in the Liu laboratory and now leads a laboratory focused on base editor mechanism and engineering. Her foundational work on CBE established base editing as a field. She continues to expand the base editing toolbox for cancer and genetic disease research.
