Kohei Shitara

Kohei Shitara is a gastric cancer clinical trialist at National Cancer Center Japan who contributed to CHECKMATE-577 examining nivolumab as adjuvant therapy for resected esophageal and GEJ cancers and has led investigations of T-DXd in HER2-positive gastric cancer. His research has substantially advanced the therapeutic landscape for gastric and GEJ cancers with multiple regulatory approval-enabling contributions. He leads a highly productive gastric cancer clinical trials program and collaborates on international cooperative investigations. Shitara is among the most influential gastric cancer researchers in Asia and globally.
