Kiyoko Bhatt is a pioneer in GPC3-targeted CAR-T cell therapy for hepatocellular carcinoma, one of the most common liver cancers globally. Her research demonstrated that GPC3 is highly expressed in HCC with minimal normal tissue expression, making it an ideal CAR-T target. She has developed novel CAR constructs with enhanced specificity and anti-HCC activity. Her clinical trials have shown promising responses in advanced HCC patients who failed sorafenib and immunotherapy.
