James Kirkland pioneered senolytic therapy, demonstrating that selective elimination of senescent cells with dasatinib plus quercetin reverses multiple age-related conditions and reduces epigenetic age acceleration in clinical trials. His work establishing that senescent cell burden drives biological aging and cancer susceptibility has opened a new therapeutic paradigm in cancer prevention. He leads the geroscience approach to simultaneously targeting aging and cancer through senescent cell clearance.
