Kevin Camphausen has investigated low-dose hypersensitivity and the underlying mechanisms of the hyper-radiosensitivity/increased radioresistance (HRS/IRR) response observed at low radiation doses. His laboratory has explored checkpoint kinase inhibitors as radiation sensitizers and contributed to early-phase trials of radiosensitizing agents at the NCI. His work bridges fundamental radiation biology to rational clinical trial design for novel radiation combinations.
