Dr. Kevan Shokat is the pioneering chemist who discovered the allosteric switch-II pocket on KRAS G12C and designed the first covalent KRAS inhibitors, directly enabling the development of sotorasib and adagrasib. His landmark structural insights transformed KRAS from an undruggable oncogene to a clinical drug target. His broader work on chemical genetics and kinase inhibitor design has transformed oncology drug discovery.
