Ronan Kelly led the CheckMate 577 trial establishing adjuvant nivolumab after neoadjuvant chemoradiation and surgery for esophageal cancer. This milestone trial introduced immunotherapy into the esophageal cancer treatment paradigm. His work established the first adjuvant immunotherapy indication for resected esophageal and GEJ cancer.
