Kathleen R. Cho
MD
Chair and Professor of Pathology
👥Biography 个人简介
Kathleen Cho is a pathologist and cancer biologist who made transformative contributions to understanding the origin of high-grade serous ovarian carcinoma from the fallopian tube epithelium. Her work challenged the longstanding belief that serous carcinoma arises from ovarian surface epithelium and established the fallopian tube as the site of origin for most high-grade cases. This paradigm shift has fundamental implications for prevention strategies including risk-reducing surgery. She has also characterized WNT pathway abnormalities in endometrial cancer and contributed to molecular classification of gynecologic cancers.
