Jakob Nikolas Kather has demonstrated that deep learning models can predict molecular biomarkers including microsatellite instability, TMB, and driver mutations directly from routine H&E pathology images. His pan-cancer analyses using foundation model approaches have revealed morphological signatures predictive of immunotherapy response.
