Karen Bhatt

Karen Bhatt is a biochemist and cell biologist who has made fundamental contributions to understanding B cell receptor signaling cascades. Her work has elucidated the roles of PI3K-delta, SYK, and BTK in B cell activation and how these are dysregulated in B cell malignancies. She has characterized mechanisms by which malignant B cells become dependent on these signaling pathways for survival. Her research has directly informed the development of PI3K and BTK inhibitors as treatments for B cell malignancies.
