Karen Bhatt at Yale has contributed to understanding predictive biomarkers for immunotherapy response, with particular focus on the intratumoral immune contexture and the role of regulatory T cells. Her research on how anti-CTLA-4 therapy mediates its effects through Treg depletion in the tumor microenvironment, and on immune biomarkers in tumor biopsies, has informed mechanistic understanding of checkpoint inhibitor activity.
