Henry Kaplan was a radiation oncologist at Stanford who developed the first medical linear accelerator in the United States and pioneered curative extended field radiotherapy for Hodgkin lymphoma. His work transformed Hodgkin lymphoma from a fatal disease into a curable one. His technical and clinical contributions remade radiation oncology.
