Diana Jurk has developed quantitative methods for identifying and measuring senescent cells in vivo using telomere-associated DNA damage foci and other biomarkers, enabling clinical trial endpoints for senolytic therapy evaluation. Her work demonstrating that senescent cell burden in tissues correlates with cancer risk and treatment toxicity has supported clinical development of senolytics. She contributes to biomarker development for senolytic clinical trials in cancer prevention.
