Julie Fleshman leads PanCAN (Pancreatic Cancer Action Network) — the largest nonprofit advocacy organization for pancreatic cancer, which has 5-year survival under 12% and is now the 3rd leading cause of cancer death. Her organization has funded over $210 million in research, launched the Know Your Tumor precision medicine initiative providing tumor molecular profiling to pancreatic cancer patients, and advocated for increased NCI funding for this dramatically underfunded cancer.
