Judith Balmaña

Judith Balmaña is a clinical oncologist and translational researcher who bridges hereditary cancer genetics with DDR-targeted therapy. She has contributed to clinical trials of PARP inhibitors in BRCA-mutated breast, ovarian, and pancreatic cancers and has worked to standardize clinical testing of homologous recombination deficiency (HRD) as a companion diagnostic. Her research addresses PARP inhibitor resistance mechanisms in clinical cohorts, including BRCA reversion mutations and non-genomic resistance. She participates in ESMO hereditary cancer guidelines and European germline BRCA testing consensus.
