Judith Balk

Judith Balk investigates integrative medicine approaches for gynecologic cancer patients, with particular focus on menopausal symptoms resulting from cancer treatment. Her research has evaluated botanical and mind-body interventions for hot flashes, sleep disturbance, and sexual health in women treated for gynecologic and breast cancers. She has examined safety and efficacy of herbal supplements in this population and developed clinical guidelines for integrative approaches to treatment-induced menopause. Her work addresses important quality of life issues for the growing population of gynecologic cancer survivors.
