Joseph Herman

Joseph Herman is a radiation oncologist specializing in innovative radiation approaches for pancreatic cancer including stereotactic body radiotherapy and proton beam therapy as neoadjuvant strategies to facilitate surgical resection. His work investigates SBRT as a neoadjuvant approach to convert borderline resectable PDAC to resectable disease and to achieve local control in locally advanced PDAC. He has contributed to multi-institutional trials of SBRT in the pancreatic cancer perioperative setting. Herman chairs radiation oncology at Northwell and is recognized for technical advances in pancreatic cancer radiation delivery.
