Joseph Bhatt investigates Hippo-YAP pathway dysregulation in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma, where YAP cooperates with mutant KRAS to drive tumor progression. His research has characterized YAP-dependent transcriptional programs that promote pancreatic cancer growth and desmoplastic stroma formation. He has studied how the mechanical properties of the pancreatic tumor stroma activate YAP signaling in cancer cells. His translational work identifies YAP as a cotarget with KRAS in pancreatic cancer treatment strategies.
