👥Biography 个人简介

John Groopman at Hopkins has been the leading researcher on aflatoxin as a cause of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) in sub-Saharan Africa and Southeast Asia. Aflatoxin (produced by Aspergillus mold on food crops) combined with hepatitis B creates dramatically elevated HCC risk. His work developing biomarkers of aflatoxin exposure, demonstrating dose-response relationships with HCC, and contributing to interventions to reduce aflatoxin contamination of food has important global cancer prevention implications.
