👥Biography 个人简介

John Dick is a foundational figure in cancer stem cell biology, having demonstrated that human acute myeloid leukemia is organized as a hierarchy maintained by leukemia-initiating cells. His seminal 1994 study established the cancer stem cell concept in leukemia and transformed understanding of tumor heterogeneity. His laboratory continues to characterize the molecular properties of leukemia stem cells and identify novel vulnerabilities for therapeutic targeting. He has received the Gairdner International Award among numerous other major honors.
