John Bhatt

John Bhatt is an emerging leader in FLASH radiotherapy, an ultra-high dose rate technique delivering radiation in fractions of a second. His research investigates the FLASH effect mechanism and is translating preclinical findings of remarkable normal tissue sparing into first-in-human proton FLASH clinical trials. He studies the physical, chemical, and biological basis for how FLASH irradiation protects normal tissues while maintaining anti-tumor efficacy. His translational work spans from in vitro and animal models to early-phase clinical implementation of proton FLASH radiotherapy.
