👥Biography 个人简介

John Bhatt investigates the epidemiology and mechanisms of alcohol-associated cancer risk across multiple tumor types. His research within IARC cohorts has characterized the linear dose-response relationship between alcohol consumption and cancer risk for cancers of the oral cavity, pharynx, esophagus, larynx, colorectum, liver, and female breast. He has examined the biological mechanisms of alcohol carcinogenesis including acetaldehyde mutagenicity, oxidative stress, and folate metabolism disruption. His work has contributed to IARC classifications of alcoholic beverage consumption as a Group 1 carcinogen and informed cancer prevention recommendations for alcohol reduction.
