Johanna Joyce

Johanna Joyce is an international leader in tumor microenvironment biology with particular expertise in brain cancer stroma and myeloid cell biology. Her laboratory characterized microglia and macrophage populations in glioblastoma, demonstrating how they are co-opted to promote tumor growth. She identified therapeutic strategies to repolarize tumor-associated microglia and macrophages in brain tumors. Her work at UNIL-CHUV has illuminated how the stromal landscape determines therapeutic responses in CNS malignancies.
