Joel Saltz

Dr. Joel Saltz is chair of biomedical informatics at Stony Brook and a founder of computational pathology as a field. He has developed whole slide image analysis infrastructure used across TCGA datasets and contributed AI methods for spatial tumor-infiltrating lymphocyte mapping across cancer types. His work on large-scale pathology imaging informatics has provided the computational foundation for population-level digital pathology research.
