Jian Gong

Jian Gong has been a pioneer in developing DC-tumor fusion vaccines, in which dendritic cells are physically fused with autologous tumor cells to create hybrid cells that present the full repertoire of tumor antigens in the context of potent DC co-stimulation. His clinical trials in multiple myeloma, renal cell carcinoma, and breast cancer have demonstrated immunological and clinical responses to DC-tumor fusion vaccines. He has optimized fusion cell generation protocols and identified biomarkers of vaccine response. His approach addresses the limitation of single-antigen DC vaccines.
