Jesus San Miguel

Jesus San Miguel is a seminal figure in myeloma research, widely recognized for establishing autologous stem cell transplantation as the standard of care for eligible patients. He co-developed bortezomib-based induction regimens that substantially improved transplant outcomes. His contributions to minimal residual disease assessment in myeloma have redefined response criteria. He has been a principal investigator of landmark clinical trials through the IFM and EMN cooperative groups.
