Jennifer Wargo

Jennifer Wargo at MD Anderson Cancer Center has been a pioneering investigator in the relationship between gut microbiome composition and immunotherapy response in melanoma. Her landmark studies demonstrated that patients with diverse gut microbiomes and Faecalibacterium-enriched communities had superior responses to anti-PD-1 therapy. She has also studied the detrimental impact of antibiotics on immunotherapy outcomes and is leading FMT trials in melanoma.
