Jennifer Wargo

Jennifer Wargo is a surgical oncologist and translational researcher who has produced landmark studies linking gut microbiome composition to anti-PD-1 immunotherapy response and resistance in melanoma and other cancers, opening the concept of microbiome modulation as an IO combination strategy. She has led clinical trials evaluating fecal microbiota transplantation in anti-PD-1-refractory melanoma patients and has investigated how CDK4/6 inhibitors modulate the tumor immune microenvironment to synergize with checkpoint inhibitors. She is a leader in multi-modal tumor profiling approaches for combination IO biomarker discovery.
