Jennifer Temel

Jennifer Temel conducted the landmark randomized trial demonstrating that early integration of palliative care in metastatic lung cancer improved quality of life, reduced aggressive end-of-life care, and unexpectedly prolonged survival. This study fundamentally changed how oncologists view the role of palliative care and led to major oncology society recommendations for early integration. She has extended this research across cancer types and settings, consistently demonstrating the benefits of concurrent palliative and oncologic care. Her work represents the gold standard for evidence-based palliative care integration.
