Jason Luke at UPMC has contributed to melanoma immunotherapy clinical research and to developing STING (stimulator of interferon genes) agonists as cancer immunotherapy agents. His work on combining innate immune activation strategies with checkpoint blockade to convert immunologically cold tumors to hot tumors, and his contributions to melanoma immunotherapy combination trials, addresses the subset of patients who don't respond to checkpoint inhibitor monotherapy.
